However, in 2014 Atiku decamp to All Progressive party, APC which seems to be the country's leading party of the moment amid much report of him and former president Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo not being cool with each other despite the fact that they were close enough to serve from 1999-2007 as President and vice president respectively.

Like every politician who want to run for an office, Atiku as well has set in the game of going closer to influential persons who are celebrities for the 2019 forthcoming election.

Days ago the Politician along other notable politicians in the country couldn't ignore Wizkid's win, they all congratulates Wizkid on his Music of Black Origin (MOBO) award which to most people, there is a deeper reason for the congratulatory messages.
Atiku wrote:
"When Nigeria does well, I cannot help but feel well. My happiness is tied to the happiness of Nigeria and when Nigerians break records and take the name of Nigeria to greater heights it exhilarates me. “Thank you Wizkid for raising Nigeria’s flag high for the positive, not the negative. Your emergence as the Best International Act at the #MOBOAwards is a proud moment for Nigeria. And the fact that you emerged over JAY-Z and Drake makes it even more celebratory. WELL DONE."
