The 49-year-old actress was married to Pitt (54) for five years before splitting in 2005 with no reason, after staring in the movie Mr and Mrs Smith with Angelina Jolie.
Naturally, the internet was abound with suggestions that Pitt and Aniston could reunite and some
reports suggested the former couple had been in touch. Her publicist said the suggestion was "a complete fabrication".
Similarly, insiders in Pitt's camp said he has not been in touch with his-ex wife regarding her recent separation from her new husband Theroux.
"Brad is of course sad to hear the news about Jen’s divorce. He only wishes the best for her," a source told Us Magazine. "However, Brad hasn’t reached out to Jen, and has no plans to do so at this point."Aniston and Theroux (46) announced their separation on Friday, after just two years of marriage. The couple wed at their Bel Air home in 2015, but TMZ reported yesterday that there is no evidence the pair were legally married.
"In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation," they said.
"We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship. Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly."Theroux jumped to his wife's defence in 2016 when Pitt and Jolie split and Aniston had been pulled back into the tabloid narrative around the Pitt-Aniston-Jolie drama and said:
"There’s an endless appetite for trash, apparently, though everyone would say that they don’t have that appetite," he said at the time.
"But I think a lot of people do because people buy it. But there are bigger things to bitch about. It’s shocking how much bandwidth things can take up when there are far more important things going on in the world."
